This month we (meaning my class and I) have been learning about survival traits of animals. Yesterday, I assigned my students regions and they had to come up with 1 fake animal and 1 real animal that lives in that particular habitat and write about its traits that make it so it can survive in that habitat. One boy in particular had the jungle as his habitat, so he drew a monkey. I was helping him name all the survival traits and I mentioned opposable thumbs as a trait. He went to his seat and about 1o minutes later he came up to me and asked if it was called "disposable" thumbs. It was so funny! Kids are hilarious! Especially with big words.
