Opinions

So I've just recently had some things come up, small things might I add, and I have an opinion about it and I'm going to voice it.

First off, when you go to a restaurant you expect to have a stress-free atmosphere where you get waited on. As you walk in and get seated, you are handed a menu in which you can choose delicious, wonderful, TASTY food. Also on the menu is the many side dishes, such as creamy soup, buttery breadsticks, tangy salad, golden crisp fries, and the list goes on depending where you're at. While you're waiting for your food, you get to enjoy your time sitting and relaxing and talking with someone that you care about (let's hope atleast). And then the glorious moment happens.....the waiter comes in with a steamy hot plate of food, that you specifically ordered. Because for you, you were able to look at a menu that has a description of all the food that tells you exactly what is on that dish. Again, as you eat you are happy, you're stomach is happy and all is well.

Now on the flip side, there are places, well, one place specifically where all that you expect in a restaurant (read above) does not happen. You walk in and are required to order right away. This means that you have to hurry and look at your menu, which happens to be a great big board on the wall, and decide what to eat. Now usually a menu describes what is all entailed with the dish you are ordering. Not at this restaurant. There are no side dishes listed and no adjectives describing the food. Therefore, you have to ask the cashier, because that is what they are....not a waitor or waitress, what exactly is on the malibu chicken platter. They then procede to tell you what Malibu Chicken is and then they tell you all the side dishes that you can choose to go along with the platter. Now don't you think they might have been asked the same question (what is on the malibu platter?) many times? Don't you think they could save themselves some breathe by just posting all those extra details on the menu? Oh wait, the menu is a great big board, and therefore they can't fit everything on it. Too bad for them. Keep on talking cashier! Prepare yourself for another day of answering blatant, stupid questions!

Well, if you haven't guess which restaurant this is, I will tell you. It is a place called Sizzler that I refuse to go there and eat ever again. Now I will continue to tell you the experience that I had there. Yes, that is right, the above experience happend to me on a Saturday that was going well till I showed up there.

So I asked all my questions (thinking it was completely a awful idea the whole time) and then I sat down. As I waited for my food, I ate a one-sided toasted piece of bread. You heard right, ONE SIDEd! Wonderful! Then I went to get some salad. Luckily for them, their salad might be enough to redeem themselves....might. Pretty good salad bar, which I had to pay 3.99 extra added onto my Malibu chicken meal, which was 9.99.

Finally my platter (please emphasize the previous word) arrived. I was so excited to see that I had paid 9.99 for a platter of 2 chicken patties with processed ham and melted white cheddar cheese, and about 1/3 cup of fries on the side. I took a few bites and at that time realized that it really was processed ham - it had to be! It tasted exactly like the kind you could buy at Walmart, all packaged up. And the fries were not hot and crispy like fries are supposed to be.

So there you go. I really don't know how they stay in business. Remember, this is just my opinion...take it or leave it. Now Olive Garden......that's a great restaurant!

I was going to talk about another opinion, but I think that will have to do for the day.

  1. I'm not, but I think I wouldn't have paid for my food. I'm not really brave but with an experience that awful I might say "um, no way I'm paying for that. Lame!" I'm so sorry you had this awful experience. Now I know I don't need to eat at Sizzler.
