As I've grown up, I've always been kind of embarrassed when my dad would brag about his kids and that's all he could talk about with other people. Well, now that I'm a parent I totally understand why he does! I mean, come on, look at all my other posts. Who are they about mostly? Jonas! He's our life now! And he's so much more fun and cute to talk about than other things. But I'll tell you the other things anyway.
So Jonas turned 6 months at the beginning of the month. He's so stinkin cute and I love every minute with him. Check out his sixth month pic to the right side and a different one below.
Also, Clint and I had a Halloween party with both of his brothers. It was fun. We ate pumpkin stew, carved pumpkins, watched "Unbreakable" and then played "13 dead end drive." Jonas had fun touching the pumpkin guts. It was cute watching him squish it in his fingers slowly.
Jonas has also been getting more mobile. No, he's not crawling yet, but he can sit really well, and if he wants something in front of him, he'll lean forward and eventually end up on his tummy, then he'll roll over. So that's about a 3 feet span of how far he can move. I'm really excited for him to start crawling. Hopefully that will make it so he won't need so much attention all the time on him. We'll see.
This is just a random pic. I thought was cute. He likes to sit in his swing and propel himself sideways. It's cute.
School has been going good for me. Funny that I call it school, when it's really my job. But whatever. The kids are great. I love teaching math - although it can get frustrating because kids don't listen, or they don't turn in their homework and wonder why they are failing, or parents freak out because their kid is failing (Hint: It's because they aren't turning in their homework), and just the whole politics of education. I hate doing paperwork, which our school does because we are an IB school. Don't worry about it, if you don't know what that is. I don't feel like going into it. But other than that stuff, I really like hanging out with the kids, teaching one subject, math, and having time off that people don't normally get. Like this weekend, for example. It is UEA, which we aren't a part of because we're a Charter School, but we still got it off, so I have a 4-day weekend with Jonas and Clint. How Fun!
Clint has been doing well also. He's doing well in all his classes for school, and tomorrow he's meeting with his advisor about graduation (yay!) and he's working on his book. That's right, he wrote a book called "The Cause" and he self-published it. So you can buy it on Amazon. He has an ebook version (only .99) and there's a paperback version. He designed the cover himself. I've read the book, and yes I'm biased, but I really liked it. I think it's amazing that my husband wrote a book. I don't think I could ever have the patience to do that. He's sold around 20ish copies, if I remember correctly. It's cool. If you want to check out his book trailer, look below. Thanks to Jay Jensen and Dryfire Productions, he helped Clint out with this book trailer. Jay did an awesome job!
I've also been thinking, as Clint's been doing research and trying to market his book. I want to do a book blog. It's really cool. There's a lot of them out there. Pretty much you read books, then you write a review about them. I love reading books, so I think that would be fun. Maybe I'll start it next year when school is over and I don't have to teach anymore. That would be awesome! For example, this blog did a little blurb about Clint's book, and so did this one. I would love to do that. And if I could get enough followers, maybe I could get advertising and make money. But I wouldn't do it to make money. I would just like to do it for fun, and because I like reading.
So there you go, that is the lives of the Stoker's. Life's pretty good right now. I wish I could be home with Jonas everyday, but this is where we need to be right now, I guess. Clint is finishing school, and I have to remind myself that that is the best thing for us, and Clint.
thanks for the updates. I really like to know how the Stoker family is doing. Jonas is getting so big and super cute. I think he looks like a beautiful mix of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteLove you, miss you!
wahoo you blogged!! thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI swear for me 6 months was the hardest time- because they want to move and can't!! but now that my little one moves it's hard to keep up with him!!
Oh wow, Jonas is growing so fast! I just love his hair.
ReplyDeleteYou'll love it when he starts moving...of course, you'll have to be fast to keep up!
I'm sorry that work/school can be frustrating but hope you know how important teachers like you are!!!
ha ha, and I know what you mean about talking only about the kids. I feel like our adult lives are so stressful and boring and hard that there's no point in talking about it--depressing. So I talk about the fun of the kids and just highlights of ours.
We love it any way!
Steppy-Toe! I need to see you and your baby. Wesley and I need to come play, or you need to come see us. When are you heading up this way?
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks everyone for the comments. People do read my blog! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteJill: I don't know...but you should come visit us. Give me a call and we can work something out. Or we could go down there too.
