I love you so much. You are my favorite grandpa, even though you are the most stubborn man I know. I appreciate all of your support and help throughout my life, school and college. I always wanted to be a better person because I never wanted to disappoint you. Thanks for sticking in there for a while so you could meet my little boy, Jonas. Thanks for being a dedicated servant of the Lord and serving in the Temple for 20 years. Thanks for being a good example and serving a mission with your wife. Thanks for always loving her, so I know she was always taken care of and loved. I want Clint and I to be exactly like you and Grandma. Thanks for raising my dad in the gospel so I could have the gospel in my life. Thanks for serving your Country during WWII and living to tell your story. You were an amazing bowler, husband, Latter Day Saint, and Grandpa. I'll miss you and I can't wait to see you on the other side where we will meet again and give each other a great big hug. Please watch over my family and I and especially Grandma, since she's having a hard time with you leaving and all. I love you so so so much!
Your Grandaughter,
Stephanie
My Grandpa Dean died last Saturday night (Jan. 14) around 9:30 at night. He was an awesome Grandpa - my favorite. I'm going to miss him, but mostly because my Grandma will miss him. It will be a joyous occasion when they can meet again.
Clint, Jonas and I went to visit him on Saturday, and he was not doing well. He's had pneumonia off and on for a couple months now, and I think he had had it. He had fallen early that morning, and Hospice said that that was probably what made his body go into they dying process. But its ok, because he was ready to go. He was excited to see his friends and family on the other side. What an amazing man! He lived to be 89 years old. I love him. It's too bad he couldn't have held on a little longer for my brother to get home from his mission - but that's ok. Cody's doing ok with the news. The funeral is on Friday, with the viewing on Thursday night.
I'm so glad that I know he's in a better place right now and that I will get to see him again. What a great thing it is to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Sorry to hear that. Let us know if you need anything.
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet post. Love that you have a picture of jonas and your grandpa. I am trying to get pictures of Carter with his great grandparents since you never know. HOpe your family is doing ok!
ReplyDeleteSo Sorry Stephanie, I know what it's like to lose a grandparent.
ReplyDeleteIt is a joyous welcome he's receiving and hardest on those he's left behind. I'm glad he left such a wonderful legacy and memory to you and your family.
Prayers are with you!
