Fun at the Park

To keep myself not bored, Jonas and I have developed a morning routine, and I hope to keep it up.  Now I just need ideas of stuff to do for the afternoon.  If you have any kid friendly ideas for a one year old, please let me know!

So this is our morning routine.  I wake up and shower before Clint gets ready for work, which is around 6:45.  Jonas is usually awake, or about to wake up at that time.  I know, he's an early riser, which kinda sucks because I can't sleep in that late.  Oh well.  Then Jonas and I watch cartoons, or something kid friendly on Netflix for about half hour (that's all he can handle, and even then he doesn't last the whole half hour), until dad starts to leave.  Then we eat breakfast together, brush our teeth, get dressed, fix my hair, and then we go outside for a walk.  My goal is to walk atleast 3 times a week, if not more.  I've already walked 3 times this week with him.  So it's going to be part of our routine, so we both will just expect it. Whether it's walking to the park, or just around the neighborhood, I will get some exercise.  So today, we went to the park, and I brought my camera this time to take pictures.  He's so cute!  He loves the park, mainly because he loves to play in the woodchips and throw them everywhere.  It's cute.

See how he's hunched over?  He always sits like that.  It's adorable.  Even in the bathtub, he'll sit like that and play in the water.

He used to not like the swings, but the last two times I've put him in the swing, he's laughed and had fun. Although he gets a scared type of look on his face when he's swinging back down.  It might tickle his stomach or something.  But overall, he likes it, for about 5 min. max.

Then after we go on our walk, we come home, play with toys for a bit, I feed him a small snack, usually some type of fruit, and then he lays down for his nap around 10:30 and around 2 hours or so.  Then he wakes up and I feed him lunch, then I feel like both of us get bored.

So if you have any ideas that I can do in the afternoon, let me know.  I feel like he's too young to color (I tried and he does it for about 30 seconds, and then wants to move on), and too young to help me bake cookies, or stuff like that, so I don't know what else to do.

But there you go, we have fun together.

  1. My kids and I used to love watching SigningTime together, they have Baby Signs too. The songs are fun and signing is easy and fun to do. It will also help him communicate the things that he has a difficult time saying. You can check them out from the Local Library. While you are at the Library, sign up for the summer reading program and maybe storytime.

  4. Oh how fun! Good for you on walking too; I find that keeps my sanity as much as keeps me healthy.

Does Jonas like to read books? My kids like playing in their sandbox, with bubbles, in water, or just goofy play in the house.
