Halloween fun!

Can I just say that I LOVE being a mom! I'm not a huge fan on Halloween because I don't really like dressing up, but now that we have a kid in the picture, it has become 10X more fun!

I love Halloween now, because I love dressing up Jonas. I love seeing his face get all excited when he plays games, gets candy, and hangs out with his cousins. It's so fun!

This weekend was filled with Halloween fun. We had two parties at our house. The first one was on Friday night. We had couples over and ate dinner, carved pumpkins and watched "The Village". We called it our adult party. Jonas loved carving pumpkins. He was so surprised when Clint cut and took off the top part of the pumpkin. It was like a shocked "you just broke it" kind of look. So cute!

My Sister in law, Anna, was nice to let me borrow her witches hat. That is all I will do for dressing up because it's easy, and I didn't feel stupid wearing this fancy witches hat.

Jonas was sticking his head in the pumpkin and talking. It was nice and echoey. So cute!
We did a spider carving because Jonas is OBSESSED with Spiders lately. Ever since we got a spider man book from the library, it's his new favorite word, and all he wants to do is watch the Spider Man cartoon on netflix. (which I limit him to 3 or 4 twenty min episodes a day)  He loves it!

The next day, Saturday, Clint's work (SLCC) had an employee Halloween party during the day. So we got Jonas all dressed up and went. It was so fun! I love that his work does awesome things like this for the family. We had a blast! And Jonas loved playing the games, getting candy, and seeing all the spider man costumes. I guess he could have been spider man this year for halloween, but we got a couple of hand me down costumes from Clint's sister. And since Jonas doesn't care/understand Halloween yet, we'll save on the money. Next year might be different though. We'll see.

Originally, a few weeks ago, when I put this costume on him, he HATED it! He kept trying to get it off and was really whiney. But we taught him who winnie the pooh was, he has a ball with winnie the pooh on it, and he learned the difference between "pooh" and "poo" (yes, he knows what that is - too smart for his own good), then he was all for the costume. When I showed him the costume, and that it had pooh bear on it, he immediately wanted it on. Cute!

What a sweetheart!

At the work party, they had pumpkins you could decorate with stickers.

Jonas got his face painted, and he liked it. Even though he kept his head close to Clint the whole time, he sat still, and even said thank you to the lady when we were done. Jonas does not talk to other people because he's super shy, but he liked getting his face painted so much that he actually said thank you to a stranger. Love him!
They had a ring toss game that Jonas liked to "play". He would walk the rings into the spot and walk back for more.

Later that Saturday, we had a family kid party. These are Jonas's cousins on Clint's side of the family. And this is only half of his cousins. He has 5 other cousins that couldn't make it. Clint's brother and his wife live 3 hours away, so that's understandable that they didn't come. But Jonas LOVES these boys. When he sees them, he lights up and gets so excited, and follows them everywhere. He also likes Maggie, who is sitting on the floor.

From Left to right, hayden (giraffe), 3, Jackson (Luigi), 7, Blake (mario), 5, and then Maggie is on the floor - the only girl at this party. She is 8 months.

Sitting on Uncle Tyler with the awesome cousins - and they love Jonas too.

Needless to say, we had a fun Halloween weekend with family and friends. I love being with family!
