Day 40 - Jonas's First Movie

This morning we were really busy working in our yard. Clint weed wacked it, mowed it, and two guys came and aerated it for cheap! It was awesome. Then we ran errands after lunch, and then Jonas took his nap. I felt so worn out from being busy. But then the evening came, and we felt like doing something, and Clint's parents invited us to go to a movie. I felt like Jonas was old enough to sit through a movie, so I was all for it. Plus, it would give me a chance to get a picture for the day that was different than the rest. Well, we got there, and I forgot to put my SD card back in my camera! AH! And for some reason, my camera doesn't have an internal memory, which isn't a big deal because I usually have my SD card with me. Needless to say, I was really bugged, but I learned my lesson. Once I'm done uploading my photos onto the computer, I need to take the SD card out right then and put it back in my camera. Ah! So no, I didn't get a picture today, but I did have Clint's dad take a picture with his phone.

Wow! What an awful picture! It had nothing to do with Bryan. All our faces look like a drag, and I'm sunburnt. And it made me realize something that I LOVE about manual mode. I never have problems with red eye. Because I never use a flash, I never have red eye in my pics. Plus the background is all dark, but the foreground isn't (because of the flash). It just made me realize that even though my camera is only an entry level DSLR, it can take awesome pictures! So I guess it was a learning experience as well about putting my SD card in my camera, and picture quality. But hey, I got a pic for the day!

Now for the funny stuff. Since this was Jonas's first time, he was enthralled with the pictures on the walls, and kept looking and pointing at stuff and saying "what's that?" It was so cute to see how interested he was with everything. Then this was the funniest part: we were walking towards the theater, and when you get there, you open the door and you walk in, then you turn left or right and walk down the hall into the theater, if that makes sense. Well, Jonas walked through the door, and then he turned right to walk down the little hall into the actual theater. But as soon as he turned the corner and saw the darkness of the theater, he turned right back around and started running. It was so funny! I wish I could have caught his expression on video or something. It was classic! I was laughing so hard. So I held him, and once we sat down (he had to sit on our laps, he wouldn't sit in his own seat) he was just fine. And he also stole Grandma Stoker's slurpee. She was going to share with him, but he just took it and basically drank the whole thing. Funny kid. He lasted about half way, then he lost attention and started climbing over everyone. He was happy, and didn't make any noise, but he was just done. I think he would have made it if the previews weren't so long. But it was fun. Thanks Bryan and Nancy!

Oh, by the way, we watched "The Croods". It was a cute show, I liked it a lot.
