Then we played with this balloon thing that flew in the air. It was a pretty cool toy.
We had a water fight (I didn't want my camera near the water, hence no pictures :) ) Then had a yummy bar-b-que. Hamburgers, fruit salad, caramel dip, apples, grapes, chips, cheetos, the works.
Then came the fireworks. Jonas loved the snaps. He thought that throwing them everywhere was so fun.
But his favorite was stomping on them like they were bugs. Ha!
Then comes the slightly redneck portion. These are not sparklers, and they are not supposed to be held, especially by little kids. But I didn't know that at the time. My brother-in-law is really into fireworks and has all these fancy type of fireworks that we never had when I was little, so I had no idea what they did. This one is supposed to be put in a jar, or a hole and it spits out the fire and crackles and goes everywhere. Ya, not in the hand, but we all did it anyway. Oh my! I really thought Jonas might be afraid of the fireworks and the loud noises and fire and things being "hot". But he wasn't. He loved every bit of it!
Ya, these are not meant to be held in your hands either. They are rope type things that flick the fire everywhere. Oh boy!
He especially loved the "spalarkers", as he called them. So cute! He was very calm with them. He didn't spin them around, or run around with them, he just stood there, holding the sparkler away from him. It made for a nice photo op, but them my B-I-L's girl photobombed this picture. And it would have been my favorite too. Oh well, I still like it.
See? he would just stand there, like the statue of liberty. So cute!
We hung out with Grandpa Dean.
Then we watched the fancy fireworks, you know the kind that you buy in those big packages. Jonas liked that, then we ended the night with a few more sparklers, and then went home. Jonas was so exhausted. It was really fun though. I love the holidays and being with family.

It was really fun!
