I just thought it was cute that all 3 boys were playing together today. It normally doesn't happen - the oldest likes to kind of do his own thing and doesn't care to play with the younger ones as much, but they actually all played with toys at the same time and were nice to each other. And made a huge mess while at it, but that's ok. It's better to have happy kids.
So I said "nice to each other" above because lately (about the past 3 or 4 times the neighbors have come) Jonas has started hitting the youngest one. He doesn't hit the older boy, just the younger one. But the thing is, it's not out of anger, he's doing it because he thinks he's being funny. When Jonas wrestles with Clint, he kind of hits him and such because they're wrestling, so Jonas thinks it's ok to "wrestle" like that with anyone. I feel like he's become a bully to the younger one. Ah! It's so frustrating. I put Jonas in timeout 3 times today. But he kept doing it. So now we're not letting Jonas "hit/slap" while wrestling, so I hope it changes. If any of you experience mothers have any advice to help him stop hitting, let me know.
I'm just glad you're doing something about it. Some parents think if they ignore the behavior it will magically go away. Ha! They're just teaching there kid it's ok. So good luck! May the force be with you!
ReplyDeleteI love that "bucket" head little guy too!
