Day 133 - 19 Weeks

This Wednesday is my  main ultrasound and I cannot wait to find out the gender of this baby. Here is my guess:  I think it might be a girl. And the only reason why I say that is because this pregnancy has been different than my pregnancy with Jonas. I've been more sick, smells have bothered me WAY more than with Jonas, and I feel like I'm carrying the baby higher. I feel like everything is pushing against my ribs or lungs and it's hard to breathe sometimes and it's extremely uncomfortable! I never felt that way with Jonas. But there have also been plenty of people who had different feeling pregnancies and still had the same gender. It's just my own personal guess because it's fun to guess.

But if it's not a girl, that is totally fine! I'm really ok with either. If it's a boy, we'll already have all the boy clothes/toys/bedding, etc. Jonas will have a brother to play cars and all that boy stuff with (when he's older of course), Jonas can share the same room when the baby gets older.... for a long time, and I've really enjoyed mothering a boy. I love that Jonas loves balls and bugs and cars and all that boy stuff. I think it's cute.

If it's a girl then I get to dress her up and put flowers in her hair and all that cute girly stuff. But we would have to buy mostly all new clothes. I'm sorry, but I don't really want to put boy clothes on a girl. I want to make her girly. That's the only downside of having a girl is there is more stuff to buy on our "already full to buy list".

But we will see. There are kind of more Pros to having another boy, but we'll find out, and You can definitely count on a post about the gender on Wednesday. Oh if it's a boy, his name will be Damon Andrew Stoker. If it's a girl, it will be Alexis Evelyn Stoker. Evelyn is my grandma's name that I'm really close to. And Andrew is Clint's middle name. One of my cousins named her daughter Alexis (around 2ish years ago) right before we had Jonas and I was kind of put off by that thinking that I couldn't have that name anymore. But you know what? I don't care. My friend Jessica put up a great post about names and she said when she likes a name, she sticks to it and doesn't care who else has that name. I like that idea so I'm sticking with Alexis because I've liked that name since I got pregnant with Jonas.

  1. For me too: with Allison I actually had nausea but hardly even noticed I was pregnant with Nathan (well, except for the extra 60 pounds!) ha ha

    So exciting!

You're right, it's so so fun to mother a boy and I thought I'd be completely happy with 6 of them. But then I had a girl and it's been the most special thing ever.

Excited for you to find out!

And I LOVE that opinion on names...if you like it, choose it!
