Day 156 - An Early Fall

I love fall time. I love that it gets cooler, and I love to make soup in the fall! It's the best. And, thanks to Pinterest, I now have a whole variety of soups that are amazing and tasty. So I decided it should be fall already and I made soup for dinner. This recipe I actually got from my mom. I don't know where she got it. But it's delicious! It's called "Creamy Chicken Soup".

And I found a breakstick recipe online here, and they were the best breadsticks I've ever made. They say Olive Garden Breadstick Copycat recipe, and it was really close! The thing is, I kind of got lazy and I made 8 breaksticks, when it said to make 12. So I just made mine bigger. But if I would have made them smaller, and broiled them the last minute to get a more golden brown on the top (like it says in the instructions), they would have been exactly like Olive Garden's Breadsticks. They were so good! Takes time, but so worth it! I love homemade bread stuff.

So here's the recipe for the soup. Try making it, Jonas loved it and ate everything (except the potatoes, silly boy).

I have this cookbook my mom gave me a few years back, and all the recipes I love and are a keeper, I type into a cute 4X6 card that I made in photoshop using scrapbook stuff, and print them off as JPG's. Now I know that whichever recipes are in that cookbook, are ones that I've tried and I will make again. This one is definitely a keeper.

  1. I think you can thank "The Food Nanny" for that recipe. I love making soup when the weather gets cooler too! Thanks to you, tonight we had your recipe of Potato Soup...it was delicious! Too bad I didn't read your post sooner because those bread sticks look and sound soooo good!
