I almost forgot to take a picture today. So as Clint was pulling out of the driveway tonight around 8:00ish to go watch the BYU/Utah football game, and Jonas was playing in the garage saying goodbye to him, I realized I needed a pic.
Well, because it was so late, and dark at 8 now, I only had the light from the garage to rely on for my picture. But it made me realize that I don't like relying on artificial light. I love my natural sunlight! But I've also noticed, from the photography blogs I follow, that when people do rely on artificial light (meaning the have to raise their ISO's, which makes the pictures more grainy) they always make the pictures black and white. So I did that too.
Tell me what you think, do you like the picture that is in color, or black and white? Don't get me wrong, they are both kind of crappy pictures because of the high ISO and graininess, but I think the black and white makes it look slightly better. I don't focus on the graininess as much. Also, since my camera is just a beginner DSLR, it doesn't handle high ISO and grain very well, where as other nicer cameras (the one that I want that is $3000 for just the camera body - no lens) handles grain so much better and makes the pictures look a lot nicer! But I guess that just means that I need to take pics during the day when there is better lighting.

I am just a color guy i guess. Regardless of grainyness or not - i love colot in pictures. I know i am no help!
ReplyDeleteThe black and white does make the graininess less noticeable, but I think they both still look nice especially when you realize it was dark outside...then they look super!! Way better than what I can do!
