I was changing Alexis's diaper, and she was being so happy! I tickled under her chin and she smiled! Did she really respond to me? So I grabbed the camera and tried to get her to smile again, and she did! I love that she is beginning to react to me. Yay! I love when they start to smile, it's so fun!
Oh, and here's an awesome update on her. I have officially been off of milk and dairy for a week, and it has made a huge difference! She doesn't stay up till 11 or so screaming her head off and she is happier. Oh my goodness it has been so nice! However, one night this week we had a Bear Creek soup for dinner (potato soup) and it had milk in it, like a milk product or powder milk or something. But that night and the next morning were awful! She cried till 11:30 and then crashed, and the next morning she cried till 1:00 in the afternoon where she also crashed. And that day, she pooped 6 times! 6 times! Oh my goodness. Yes, she does not like dairy and I will never eat it again while I nurse her. I might try in a few months, but for now, it has made a world of difference!
Granted, she still is somewhat fussy. She doesn't like to be held when she's awake and happy. She wants to be on the floor kicking her feet around. But after a while of that, she wants to be held to fall asleep. She still kind of has a hard time going to sleep, but she doesn't scream-cry anymore. It's just an "I'm tired and I can't get to sleep" cry. She still has gas, but it hasn't been as bad. Her tummy still gurgles and rumbles, but she's happier, so I guess that's ok. It's so nice to have a happy baby back. Happy for her at least. I'm pretty sure others would think she's still fussy, but she's not as fussy as she used to be.
(So I'm writing this post on the 18th, even though this pic was taken on the 17th, and I'm backdating it for the 17th, but today has been the first day - ever - where I changed her diaper and there wasn't poop in it. It was just wet. That has never happened! She's always had poop in it. Yes, this might be TMI, but that's a miracle. No more diaper rash for this girl. Yay for being lactose intolerant. Ha ha. Although I'm having a hard time finding stuff to eat. I feel like all I eat is carbs and sandwiches. I'll get it figured out.)
Good job steph, I'am proud if you!
ReplyDeleteYou could make sure that what you are eating doesn't have soy in it also. It is amazing how many things include it. That really helped my boys when they had milk allergies. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLike Jess has said in her letters...it's amazing the sacrifices we make for the ones we love!
