On Thursday, our family did something that we don't normally do. We went and spent money on ourselves! With one income, we don't get to do that much - actually we never have gone out and bought Jonas a toy randomly. But we wanted to, and it was awesome! Everything we got was either on clearance, or we had a coupon. It was so much fun!
First we went to dinner at Culver's. Their hamburgers are tasty. We had a buy one get one combo meal free. Nice! And then we went to Michael's where Clint bought himself some art supplies - with coupons. He got a french curve (it's like a straight edge, but with curves instead) for $1.50. And then we went to JcPenney where we knew they had a toy that Jonas would love. And I got a shirt there for 7 bucks. We were planning on spending much more, but we didn't! So we also bought candy for a party tonight.
Jonas LOVES "Jake and the Neverland Pirates". I don't mind it either. Lately, all of his imaginary type play revolves around Jake and Captain Hook, and how Captain Hook steals his sword, etc. He even sings the theme song all the time. He says "na na na na, Hey Ho let's go. Jake and the Neverland Pirates and me." It's so cute to hear him sing it. So at JCPenney they had a Jake sword, spyglass, Gold Doubloon (Pirate gold), and a pixie dust sack there. When we saw it last week it was 10 bucks. Not bad. Well, we went there today and it was clearanced to ......wait for it.......$2.97! How awesome is that!
So Jonas went to bed sleeping with all his new toys. He's been using a paper towel roll for his sword lately. He was so excited about his new sword and everything else. And since I already did a post for yesterday, I took the opportunity to take pictures of him with his new favorite toys for today. I love doing things like that. It's so fun!
And he played outside for a bit, and I just thought this pic looked cool.

Jonas loves seeing his breath when it's cold! So glad you got to have a fun and legit "Family Night"!
