But Alexis had other plans for me. This is how my day went:
This is on our way to go see the doctors. I thought her appointment was Friday, but it was today. Thank goodness for reminder calls. Anyway, she cried on the way to the doctor's and then fell asleep. Then when the doctor was examining her, she cried, and right as I got her to calm down, the nurse came in to give her shots. Wow! Silly me thinking I could do 2-month old pictures with her. Ha! She basically cried the rest of the day whenever she was awake. Poor girl. She did NOT like those shots. Her legs were all swollen and anytime I would hold her, or touch her legs, she would scream. Ya, I'll put the 2-month old pics on hold til she feels better.
But here are her stats:
Weight: 12 lbs 7 oz. 87% (I knew she was going to be big. She's such a chunk)
Height 22.8 inches 70%
Head 15.6 in 70%
She is wearing 3 month clothes and some 3-6 month clothes. I love her cute rolls!
So I didn't start recording Jonas's sleeping habits and stats and such til he was 3 months. I have no idea why. But I wish I did, so I'm glad I'm documenting all this stuff with Alexis. Especially since she has way more issues than Jonas ever did. He was the perfect baby, and she is completely opposite. But the doctor gave her a reflux prescription. Hopefully that will help her sleep better. She will wake up from gagging and then that makes her sleep awful.
I took these pictures last night after her bath because I wanted to document her chubby self. Ha ha! Look at those thighs! I love my little chunk.

This is for me to remember. Things we learned about Alexis this past month:
-She slept 8 hours one night, 6 1/2 another night and then 7. And then it was back to her usually sleeping of waking up after 4-5 hours before eating again.
- She sleeps better with noise
- Wears size 2 diapers
- Milk and soy sauce (not the soy in other things) makes her really upset
- This past week she finally stopped crying at night so much (hopefully it continues) and is in bed and asleep between 9 and 10. Sometimes, on nights when she hasn't slept well during the day, she will be in bed by 8.
- I don't have to bounce her on the exercise ball anymore (although sometimes I still do if she's really upset) She will take her binky and then it calms her down and then I can rock her or just hold her.
- She started smiling around 5-6 weeks. It takes some effort to get her to smile, though. And she has to be happy in order to smile.
- She loves to stare at me and coo and talk to me. It's so precious!
- She's become a mommy's girl.
- We blessed her this past month and she was good for it
- She and I started going back to church
- She really enjoys her diaper being changed now. She will 95% of the time quiet down if you set her down to change her diaper. The first several months after being born she hated it and screamed whenever she was changed. Maybe because she had diaper rash always from me drinking milk and all the pooping she did.
- Everything about her is inconsistent - when she eats, sleeps and I never know what to expect from her. I never know if she is going to be happy or upset during the day. She's so temperamental. The smallest things can set her off. And I never know what or when it will happen. It's kind of crazy.
Smart idea Stephanie because years from now Alexis will want to hear all about when she was a baby! I wish I'd written more things down. I guess that's one reason why we're suppose to keep a journal!
ReplyDeleteOh! I love the bath pictures too! She's soooo cute! I'll be looking forward to her two month old pictures...sorry that was a miserable day for her. :(
