A Grandma & Grandpa Vacation

The past 6 days my husband has been in Washington D.C. He attended a conference for his work. I did not want to go crazy, so I went to my parents house for 5 days. It was nice! Jonas had a blast getting lots and LOTS of attention from Grandma and Grandpa (my dad was there the whole time, too, because he had knee surgery)and even Aunt Tiffany. I was spoiled with dairy free ice cream and tasty home cooked meals and digital scrapbooking with my mom. We went on walks to the park and we even went fishing! It was really nice. It was definitely a lot less stressful as opposed to staying home by myself with the two kids.

Here are a few pics that I took when we went fishing. Those were the only pics I took the whole time. But my mom took a TON, so once I get those from her, I'll post them as well because there are some cute ones that I want to share.

Jonas liked fishing. Although once he caught the fish and pulled it out of the water, he wanted nothing to do with it. So funny! I don't blame him, though. I hate fish and they are stinky and slimy and gross. But I loved watching him do it.

Can you tell he's running away from the fish? And his face is priceless.

We went to a trout farm and they had beautiful scenery! I took some pictures of Jonas with all the green around and it was really fun getting some actual good posed pics of him. My mom was there to get him to smile. Normally (and my mom will attest to this) he runs away or looks away from the camera. But he was a good sport. I think I'll print off one of them and hang it on my wall.

This is my favorite. He's so sweet!

Oh, and I took a few pictures of Alexis, too. She was being cute, like always. She did so good! She took her naps well and she even let my parents hold her without crying. She's getting so much better.

My dad really enjoyed playing with Alexis and making her smile and laugh.
And she also reached two milestones this past week! She found her feet. She kept touching and playing with them. It was just so cute! And when she would touch her feet, it's as if she noticed her hands and would examine them. I love this stage! It's so fun to see them learn new things.

And she also rolled over all by herself! And I caught it on camera! My mom was playing with her while I scrapbooked, and she was on her tummy and she instantly put her head to the side. She was stuck on her side for a while, but with a little help from my mom to position her leg in the correct spot, she rolled right over. It was so cute! And she's done it plenty of times since then. She just has a hard time getting her arm underneath her so she can put her head to the side - if that makes sense. Sometimes she'll go and put her head to the side but her arm isn't underneath her, so she'll be stuck because her arm is in the way. I just help her get it under and then she does the rest.

Look at that cleavage. ha ha!
