My little girl turned 10 months yesterday. There's something about being in the double digits that makes her seem old, in a little baby way.

She's actually clicking her tongue in this pic. |
She started clicking her tongue this past month. So cute! She has taken 2 steps, but freaks out when she realizes she has nothing to hold onto, and therefore "walk-falls" towards the closest thing to hold on to. That's when she takes 2 steps. She also can turn her upper half of her body around when standing by herself and keep her balance at the same time. She totally could walk more if she didn't freak out all the time. She's a pro at walking back and forth while holding on to the couch.

I'm pretty sure her favorite food might be tomatoes. I cut them up in small pieces and she gobbles them up. She loves when I make grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches for her. She'll eat all the tomatoes and most of the bread with cheese. She really just loves her vegetables - especially when she can feed herself. I don't feed her pureed food as much because she'll eat almost everything we do. I tried eggs, and she wasn't a huge fan of them, but when I made a breakfast burrito and cut small pieces of that up, she loved it. She also likes quesadillas. I told Jonas one day that Alexis likes cheese quesadillas, and Jonas said "I like plain quesadillas." Ha ha! So funny! He's not a big fan of cheese - weird kid.
She's started scooting more on her bum and can turn in circles while sitting. She'll lean over and practically be on her knees like she's going to crawl, but once she realizes she's on her knees, she either goes back to her bum or falls to her tummy and whines until someone helps her, or she rolls over.

She's very manipulative. She has this fake whine/cry that she does when she doesn't get her way. Normally when she cries big tears fall down her face, but the fake cry? No tears at all. And when we try to give her a toy to distract her from being held, or whatever, she takes the toy and throws it! As if she's saying "I don't want this garbage, I want _______!" Oh my, drama queen already. :) But a cute one.
Sleeping at night has been pretty good. Lately, instead of waking up at 4 to eat, she wakes up between 5 and 6 am and then goes back to sleep - even if it's 6am. Nice! I started swaddling her again, around 3 months ago, for her naps and she falls asleep great (no nursing involved like I did several months ago). But I don't swaddle her at night. She falls asleep just great at night without being swaddled.
She also cut her first tooth this month! She only has one, but her top two have been really swollen the past few days. Really swollen! Bulging red gums. Poor girl. I can't see the other bottom tooth, but it should be coming soon, right? They come in pairs, if I remember correctly.

She still cries if other people hold her besides mom and dad. Normally I don't care, because I love holding her all the time. But when I have to be doing something else (my church calling), or I have to be gone (my brother's wedding is coming up and she can't be in the temple with me), it kind of stresses me out. She cries when her grandparents hold her. That's how bad it is. And it's been like that since I can remember. One day she won't be so shy, right?
Oh, and she doesn't wear headbands anymore. Last month, I could distract her enough and she would forget about it. But now, it only lasts 30 seconds - and that's if I distract her. If I don't distract her she instantly pulls it off. So I decided to not put a headband on her for these pics to show how she really is all the time.
And she has started giving kisses - wet, slobbery open mouthed kisses. But they are so cute! She's giving Jonas an open mouth kiss in this pic.

And he has to return the kiss. I love that Jonas wanted to actually join in on the picture taking this time around. He was so sweet with her! |

This is one of her favorite things to do. Play the piano. So cute! |
She also started shaking her head "no" at me, which is very helpful when I'm feeding her. If she's done eating, or isn't ready for the next bite, she shakes her head no at me. It's really cute and helpful.
Either way, I love her so much. I love her fun personality. A lot of people don't get to see her fun side because she's so shy and quiet out in public, but at home she has a lot of spunk. Love it! And I always say I love having a girl, but it's not the gender that I love, it's the being home with my baby that I love and seeing her through all these fun stages of babyhood.

Alexis is so cute! You can tell she has a cute personality from all the cute expressions on her face. :) So fun!
