This is my last week of summer. That's right, I go back to work on Monday. I've truly enjoyed these past 4 months with my sweet little boy. I'm going to miss him so much. But don't worry, Clint will be here to take care of him.
You see, we decided that it would be best for our family to have Clint get done with school. He only has one year left till he graduates with his Bachelors. All of the jobs that he has been applying for, that can actually support a family and also have health insurance, require a Bachelor's Degree. So it's better for him to push through school this last year, rather than drag it out, while working a full time dead end job for who knows how long. So there you have it. Clint will be Mr. Mom for the next year, while I become the breadwinner.
I'm just really happy that we don't have to get a babysitter for Jonas. I just hate the thought of someone else taking care of him, and seeing him more than his parents see him. Nobody knows Jonas like Clint and I do - not even family. I want Jonas to be raised how Clint and I want to raise him. Therefore, I'm really happy that I went to college and I have an education that can actually support a family - even if it is teaching. :) So hopefully I only have to teach one more year, then Clint will be done with school, get a nice job, and then I can be a stay at home mom.
That being said, I start work on Monday. I'm sad to leave Jonas (but also happy he's in good hands), but at the same time I'm kind of excited to get back to work in a way. I've been teaching 5th grade for the past 3 years, and now I'm moving to the Jr. High. I'm going to be teaching 6th grade math. I love teaching math! It's definitely my favorite subject to teach. And I guess I have a way of teaching it that kids understand it. I have had so many parents in the past 3 years say that I've helped their student excel and become better at math. That makes me so happy!
So I only teach one subject - which will be easier for me instead of planning 5 subjects, and I also get to come home earlier. The Junior High at Providence Hall starts earlier, and therefore I get out earlier, which means I get more time at night with my cute baby boy. So it will all be good.
Tomorrow, we are going to Cherry Hills. I'm super excited to take Jonas swimming again. It will be a nice end to my last week of....not necessarily freedom, but something along those lines.
So glad it will work out for you! My sister was the breadwinner for about a year before her hubby got his Master's degree...sometimes it's the best decision.
ReplyDeleteAnd now she gets to stay at home!
Good luck with work and hope your hubby can get a job after he gets a degree.
It's not called mr. mom. It is called househusband. come on!
ReplyDeletehaha! I was that way when we were building the apartment and going to school.
