Jonas is 8 1/2 months now. On New Year's Eve, he will be 9 months! Time is flying by so fast. And oh how I want him to start crawling! I feel like he gets so frustrated because he can't get where he wants to. When he is sitting on his bum, he can crawl forward (like below) but when he gets to the part where he's on his hands and knees, he just falls to his tummy and starts to whine because he wants to move forward.
Also, when he is on his tummy, he can rotate in a circle and get around that way. It's as if he's refusing to move forward, just circular and from bum to tummy. But I really think it's going to be soon. I can't wait, then he can entertain himself, while I realize how much more baby proofing we'll need to do. Oh well. Clint's prediction is by Christmas he will be crawling, who knows?
However, he LOVES to walk around the house, with help of course. He also is great at balancing! If he didn't try to walk forward, he could balance for a really long time, I'm sure of it. So yes, he's tried walking. His record so far is 4 steps by himself, and then he falls forward. It's so cute and fun to see him progress.
Jonas is doing really well with solids. Before, when we tried to give him solids that had a texture to it, he would gag and then throw up. But now he eats practically anything that we are eating for dinner that night, Although some items, like meat, or anything hard and too chewy, he can't handle yet. Why? Because he has no teeth yet! We saw a baby girl that was born 2 days before Jonas at the ward party and she has 8 teeth already. None for Jonas. That's ok, I've heard that's good. Healthier teeth or something like that.
Clint had his finals and group projects all finished up last week. So it's nice to relax and be together for the next week and a half. Clint also has an internship right now. It's very simple, but perfect since he needs to stay at home to take care of Jonas. He is writing an article for "Lessons Magazine" at the University of Utah. He has to interview a professor, write an article, and then make a little movie clip for their online magazine thing. It'll be good experience.
As for me? Nothing really new. I've just been working, and I'm so happy to have a break. Kids get so hyped up and crazy when Christmas comes around. I'm so glad I'm not in Jordan District though. They have to work till this FRIDAY! That's Christmas Adam! You know, the day before Christmas Eve? Ha ha! A small joke in my family. But that would be awful to work this whole week. I'd probably go crazy.
Well, I'm excited to catch up on my scrapbooking, my blog, reading, baking, etc. All that fun stuff that I don't have time to do. Enjoy!
So glad you have time to relax! Jonas is so cute! He's getting big! Hope you have a fabulous Christmas!
ReplyDeleteENJOY your week off! That will be terrific being home with hubby and baby.
ReplyDeleteWow, Jonas has grown so much since you last posted. He'll be frustrated for a little bit but don't worry, he'll get it soon enough and then yes---baby proofing!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
