Let's start with an update of Thanksgiving. We went to Clint's parents. It was nice because the entire family was there - so it was a little squishy (22 people in one small house), but it was nice to have everyone there. However, one family had the flu, which meant almost everyone else got sick. Everyone except 3 people got the flu. We were not the lucky 3. Poor Jonas was puking for half the day on Saturday. I felt so bad for him. He was crying so hard when he would throw up. I've never heard that cry come out of him until he threw up. It was such a sad, painful cry. And he didn't understand what was happening. Poor guy. He even threw up on me, which makes me an official mom, I guess. He's never thrown up on me before - he wasn't really a drooly or spit-uppy baby, so I never had to deal with that.....til now. Not fun. Oh well, he got over it by Saturday night. Clint and I were another story. We took much longer to get over our stomach flu. Oh well.
Here's pics of Thanksgiving
Clint was wrestling with his brother, and nephews and bro-in-law. So fun! He even got injured while doing it. Just a scratch on his head though. |
Jonas was super tired after we ate. I love when he falls asleep on me and we can just cuddle |
Playing with his cousins. He loves his cousins. |
Well, that was Thanksgiving for ya. My sister also went through the temple on Black Friday, so that was fun to go to. She's going on a mission to Argentina. She leaves in February. We're all really excited for her. And she's 19, so she'll be one of the youngest missionaries out, since the announcement.
Also, I've been a sewing maniac lately. This is what I've been sewing:
A wallet. It was really easy to make |
I made these slippers for Jonas. They turned out way cute, but he won't wear them! Oh well. Alteast I know how to make them. |
And yes, I got all those ideas from Pinterest! I love pinterest!
And Jonas LOVES getting his picture taken. He'll say "picture" and then say "cheese" and then he'll want to look at his pic. So fun! You can kinda tell in this picture that he's saying "cheese"
I was curious a few days ago how many words Jonas could say, so I started writing them down. I got to 150 words, and I stopped there. There's more I could have added to the list, but I figured I would just be adding a new word almost every day. That's how fast he's learning them. But these are some of my favorites (because it's just so cute how he says them):
"I did it"
"I want some"
"giraffe"
"dinosaur"
"prayer" (he's awesome at reminding us to pray before we eat)
"Hold you" (he really means "hold me", but he's used to me saying "do you want me to hold you", so cute)
"there he is" (he'll hide something, and once he finds it, that's what he'll say. It's so adorable)
"I don't know" (he'll even hold his hands out in front and kind of shrug his shoulders when he says this)
Anyways, theres a ton more, but I love it when he says phrases - those are the cutest, I'd say.
Also, I've been doing great on the no sugar thing. I only ate pie on thanksgiving, but now I'm back to to sugar. And you're right Sabrina, it gets easier the longer I do it. I really feel empowered by it.
I've been scrapbooking like crazy. I have our entire third year of marriage scrapbooked, and put in a book. Now I just need the money to order the book. I'm selling my snowboard and boots to pay for it (also using the money to afford all the hobbies I'm doing now, like sewing ha ha), so if anyone knows anyone that wants an awesome snowboard, let them know. It's practically brand new, only used 3 times for half day skiing. Here's the link onto KSL if you know anybody
So that's it. I love the holidays. I love setting up our tree (we set it up before thanksgiving - I couldn't help myself) and I'm super excited for Christmas. We already have all of Jonas's Christmas bought and wrapped. Clint has all of my Christmas bought and wrapped, and I'm just waiting for his to come in the mail. It will be the best christmas ever!
Wow, Jonas is definitely a smartie-pants, that is great! Lots of talking so you don't feel alone at home, right? :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the flu...what memories though. The same thing happened to us last Christmas with my family in Midway.
I LOVE hobbies! Give me a sense of self and personal accomplishment. You're obviously amazing with that sewing machine--way to go!
And congrats on your dieting goals! Even without obsessing over weight-loss it FEELS good to eat healthy and exercise often.
My motivation is to be able to play with and keep up with my kids so they don't have a mom always sitting on the side-lines.
You look terrific though! And I bet your Christmas will be absolutely special (BTW: what did you get Jonas?)
And tell your sister CONGRATS! Wow, what an experience.
