Rambling updates....blah blah blah :)

Just some updates on what we're doing here - basically what Jonas is doing. He's my whole life, so that's what I update about. It's supposed to be that way, right?

I've been developing another hobbie - photography. I just want different types of pictures instead of the same someone directly in front of the camera, so I'm trying to be more creative with my shots, different angles, lighting, etc. So Jonas and I had a little photoshoot, when he saw me researching photography and poses. He started to mimic the poses, so I had to try it with him. These are a few that I got with him. He's so adorable!

Something else that is nice, especially for these crappy winter months where Jonas and I are stuck inside, is that my neighbors asked me to watch their two youngest boys. This is great! Jonas gets someone to play with, and it makes my day faster, plus I get a little extra cash, which is always nice. I watch them twice a week. So here is Turner, age 4, in the yellow shirt, and Truman, age 1, standing up. I think they like to play with each other. Jonas is doing well with it, he doesn't get too jealous, but I notice when they leave, he wants me to hold him a lot more than usual. I guess he misses my attention, but doesn't realize it till they are gone.
Jonas likes to do this thing where he rubs things on his lips. It's mainly the straw from his sippy and his all time favorite blanket. He'll sit and watch Curious George, and do this over and over. Must be relaxing or something
His face is just too adorable to not take a picture of it!
Watching George (he could seriously watch this show all day if I let him) And he's now in love with "Mr. Bear". He calls him Sir Bear, pictured below. He likes to have Mr. Bear with him almost as much as he likes to have his favorite blanket with him, also pictured below.
Playing a game. "I See you" - is what he says.
One of Jonas's cousins had a one year old birthday, and he loved playing with the balloons. Hitting them, punching them, and he would say "punch" over and over as he was punching them. It was funny. I'm definitely going to get helium balloons for his 2nd birthday. It's in less than 2 months! That's so crazy. He's getting so big, so fast.
 Coloring.
His sweet little hands. Toddler hands are just as cute (maybe) as infant hands. Atleast I think his are. :)
We also play this game on my bed, since it's a low bed. As I'm making the bed, he tries to climb under the blankets as I'm putting them on. Then he'll say, with his little finger pointing upward, "no, no no" and then run across the bed before I can get to him. It's fun, and cute. I caught a picture of him doing what I just explained. I love my little man!
So there you have it. A Jonas update. What about me you might be thinking? I hate this weather, and I'm sick of it being cold. I've never hated this time of year, because I was always working, and busy, and it seemed to go buy somewhat fast. And at the school I was working at, they purposely scheduled breaks for the students and teachers during this time because usually there aren't any. So it's not usually that bad. But now? I hate it! Being a stay at home mom, and being couped up inside with a child that is bored, it's awful. I can't wait for it to get warmer, even 50 degrees would be better, then I could go outside. But I hate being inside, all day, everyday. I don't have a car to go anywhere, so I have to be "creative" with what we do inside. Needless to say, we probably watch more tv than normal, but I can't plan 15 minute activities for all day long! Because when I do plan a "toddler activity" it only lasts about 15 minutes and then Jonas is done. We play with his toys for about 20-30 minutes, then he's done with that. So we watch a movie everyday because it's nice to have a break from "planning/playing" activities all day. I feel like I have to entertain Jonas a lot because he has nothing else to do. Oh well. That's why babysitting twice a week is a nice break for Jonas and myself.

And Clint? He's just working. He's writing another book, getting into guns and all that fun stuff. He likes to watch the news and keep updated on all this crazy gun stuff that's happening in the government. Call me ignorant or whatever (I don't think I am) but I don't watch the news anymore. It's depressing. I hate the news. It makes me feel like there's no hope in this world, and I don't like feeling like there is no hope, so I just ignore it all. If I want to know any details about something, or want to know any big stories that are happening in the world, I'll ask Clint, but other than that I don't want to know. I don't want to know about all the mom or dads that are abusive to their children. I don't want to know about children being abducted, I dont want to know about how Obama plans to get all his liberal ideas achieved or whatever, I don't want to know how congress STILL cannot get their act together and get stuff done, I don't want to know about all the shootings and people dying everywhere and the calamities that are befalling the world. There's nothing that I can do now, so I ignore it. I know we're in the last days, and bad stuff will continue to happen, but I don't like to hear about it. I vote and do my part as a citizen, but now that that is over, I feel like I can't do anything except love my own child, and teach him the things he needs to know to be successful in this world. I don't want to know all the extra awful stories in the world, because that's all they report on nowadays. I just want to hear the good, and do the good.

Sometimes I just ramble on - sorry -  and I really want to know if people actually read my entire posts (sometimes they get long). So if you actually read all of this, put a comment, or leave me a comment on facebook. I really want to know who reads my posts and rantings. Thanks!

  1. We should hang out sometime during the day. We can go to the zoo or the museum for free. There is not a whole lot to do out by you or else I would come out there to do it. :)

  4. I so agree....toddler hands are ADORABLE! I'm glad you've found another hobby to get you two through these awful LONG LONG months of winter. I completely agree with you again, worst time of the year!

You have such a handsome little boy; almost 2 already!! wow.

Politics: that's why I like not having TV. I really miss out on the depressives of it. But, we know from the BOM that it's supposed to get worse before it can get better. Pray for your own family and do the best you can!

And good luck with waiting for spring! At least we have Valentine's Day this month to decorate for and get crafty and plan a date!
