Valentines Day

I have never been a huge fan of valentines, even being married, I just don't care that much. However, this year was a little different because of Jonas. He still doesn't really understand those little one day holidays, but I still decided to do something "cutesy" for Valentines day this year - because we normally don't do anything. I don't even care about flowers. If it was my choice, I'd rather have something yummy to eat, or something useful to have instead of something that will die in a few days. Just my opinion.

So first, I made Heart-shaped pizzas for dinner. I love homemade pizza. It's probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite pizza. Papa John's, and Possibly "The Pie" being my first two. It's so yummy!

Next, Clint wanted to get something yummy for me on his way home for V-day (instead of getting me flowers), but he said he could even get in the parking lot at Smith's because it was a mad house. So we went later as a family. We chose donuts.

When Clint was little, his dad would always bring home chocolate covered Strawberries for Clint's mom on Valentines Day. Clint loved that because his mom would always share, and he always looked forward to when his dad came home because of the treat. So we decided that donuts would be his "chocolate Covered Strawberry" Treat. We'll make it our tradition so our kids will always have something to look forward to on Valentines day. And look forward to their dad coming home.

I think that this was Jonas's first time eating a donut. We don't really buy them. Maybe he's had them before, I can't remember, but it wouldn't have been us buying them. He liked them.

Ya, I know, this picture is slightly blurry. My camera is a piece!! I hate it!

So that was our Valentines day. Just simple and basic, and family oriented (as opposed to couple oriented) and I like it that way much better.

  1. OM! he is getting so very big! He looks like he's thrilled with his donut, it's almost as big as his whole head!
