Chickapalooza Day

You might be wondering what Chickapalooza Day is, it's basically a girl's day, but my husband called it that instead and it stuck! And it was absolutely wonderful! I needed that.

My mom and sister and sister-in-law came down to my house, and we did crafts, all day long! We each planned something to do, and was in charge of teaching or bringing the stuff for that craft.

We first started off with my mom's craft. We made some stuff for our hubbies for St. Patrick's Day. Some of you might have seen the ideas on Pinterest. They turned out way cute, and there is candy involved!  My husband doesn't read my blog, so I think I'll be ok saying that, hopefully. :)

Next we did my Sister-in-law, Anna's, craft. We drew on stoneware plates, from the dollar store, designs, pictures, quotes or whatever with sharpies and then baked them, which makes the sharpies stick to the plate so they don't come off. It was really fun! We wore gloves, because if your hand touches the plate, I guess the oils from your skin make it so the sharpie can't bake on the plate. We also had to rub them with alcohol before we drew on our designs.

This is one of my plates. I drew a spiderman for Jonas. I loved how it turned out! I didn't want to color him red, because Anna said that when she used red once, and then baked it, it turned orange. You can't have an orange spiderman! So I did just black. Jonas loves it. It was so fun!

Then we had a tasty lunch of crusty bread and sausage and corn chowder. Then we did my sister, Tiffany's craft. She's into beading and such and has basically all the stuff for it, so we made bracelets, necklaces, earrings(except I don't have mine pierced, but that's what Anna and Tiff made). I made a necklace. I love how it turned out.

Then we did my craft. We made those ruffle scarfs that you see around everywhere now. It was easy and we did it with our fingers! No crocheting or knitting needles here. Check out this website to find how to do it. Really easy, and it took about an hour or so, unless you are my mom, it takes you 3 hours. :)

Clint was so nice to take the day off. He watched Jonas for me, but they still hung around the house and chilled with us, kind of, while we did our crafts. Jonas just loves being around his grandma and mom.

It was a great day, I loved it, and I can't wait to do it again! We're making this a semi-annual event. Yay!
