For some reason, when it's rainy outside, I don't have the motivation to take pictures as much - probably because the lighting in the house is bad because the sun isn't out. And also because I don't like using the light from our energy efficient lightbulbs. They make the pictures have a yucky yellow tint.
So I took a picture of our dinner. It's really yummy and very easy to make. And Jonas even likes it! Thanks Dad for finding it!
So it's grilled Pizza Sandwiches. Basically it's like a grilled cheese sandwich, except you use mozzarella cheese and pizza toppings.
Butter both sides of the bread, on the opposite of the buttered side put a layer of mozzarella cheese, then any toppings you like (this just has sausage - we didn't have pepperoni) then another layer of mozzarella, then the top layer of bread. Grill it like you would a Grilled cheese sandwich, and dip it in marinara sauce. You have to keep it on a low temperature when you grill it at first because you need the cheese to be melted so you can flip it without all the toppings falling off.
We made our own "marinara" type of sauce. My mom used tomato sauce and put pizza seasoning in it, but we didn't have tomato sauce. But we did have a can of diced tomatoes. We blended those diced tomatoes up, added some seasoning salt and pizza seasoning, warmed it up, and dipped our sandwiches in it. It was really good!
I really wish we had pepperoni though because it tastes so good with sausage and pepperoni. Oh well, it was still tasty, and Jonas loved it. Yay!
Your welcome Steph. I really love them sandwiches to!
