Day 104 - Too hot to do anything

We helped Clint's brother and his wife move today. It was way too hot to do that, but I sure was grateful we had central air when we came home. We didn't go out until later that evening, when our entire backyard is covered in shade. This is what Jonas did:

We tried to get him to come play in the shade, but he would rather play in the dirt by our compost bucket. He does this everyday. You'd think he didn't have a sandbox to play in or something. After a while, his face was really red, and so were his ears, so we went inside. When Jonas gets hot, it looks like he's sunburned. Everyone is always concerned that he's getting burned, but in actuality he's just really hot and his face is flushed. It's kind of annoying when other people try to tell you what is wrong with your child, but since I'm his parent, I know what's going on. His face is just flushed from the heat. I know the difference between Jonas being burned and flushed. Anyways, it took 45 minutes of being inside and taking a bath before his skin got back to normal. Oh this heat is not fun!

  1. I know, can you believe this heat!? So frustrating because Summer is supposed to be a great time for yardwork and fun outside. And here we are: in the house again!

ha ha, if only the evenings would cool off.
