Day 96 - Update on the Garden....I know, so exciting huh?

Our neighbors grew tomato plants from seed. Cool huh? Anyways, they said they had too many, so they asked if we wanted some. Of course! I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes, but Clint likes them and home made salsa sounds good. So we had to buy some tomato cages for them.

It was kind of a pain putting them in at first because we would stick them in the ground, and thanks to all the annoying rocks in this soil we have, it would bend the wire. We couldn't get them as deep as we wanted, but we got it to work.

We also are growing little pumpkins, so we needed a cage for that too. I'm excited to paint them with Jonas when we get them. He'll think that's awesome. He's never painted before. But I think those tomato plants look amazing and very healthy for being from seed. That's so cool! We put them behind our carrots since there were no carrots growing in that area. So we have a little carrot row, and then tomatoes behind them.

And look how insanely tall our onions are! They are huge! I can't believe how great they are doing. Our onions from last year only grew a quarter of that size. They are going to be awesome!

  2. Tomatoes from seed? Everyone else I talked with who tried that didn't have any success.

  3. Wow, it looks so good! I think my garden gets way too much sun...and too little water (totally lost motivation in my preggo state)

Enjoy those pumpkins after the harvest!
