Today, Clint got a call and was asked if he would play this evening. The other band that was going to play got laryngitis, and they asked 6 bands but they all kept saying no. By the way, the person in charge of getting all these bands is the drummer in Clint's band. So Clint and his two fellow band members played at music in the park tonight, and this was the first time they had played/practiced in a year! But they actually did pretty good, considering they hadn't practiced for a year. Clint had fun, Jonas had fun, and it was really nice to get out of the house.
They "opened" for Wreck It Ralph, so there was a HUGE audience! Clint said it's the most people he ever played for. Good times!
There was a bouncy house for any kids that came. Since we got there early to do a sound check, Jonas was one of the first to play before the hoards of children came. Good thing too. I don't think he could handle all the chaos and the jumping. He's still getting used to jumping and climbing on things. But he had fun playing in it.
And by the way, Jonas is almost 2 1/2. He'll be 2 1/2 in October. But he has a hard time climbing up the ladder type things at the park. Is that normal? I just feel like I see younger children than him climbing up everything at the park, and he struggles. He's great when it comes to fine motor skills, or talking and learning, but I feel like his gross motor skills (the bigger movement type things) are a struggle for him. Just wondering if that's normal. Maybe it's because he's the first child and doesn't have older sibling to teach him how to do it? I don't know..
The other kids probably has older brothers or sisters, which in turn they learn climbing much earlier.
ReplyDeleteEvery kid develops at their own special pace. Don't worry, Jonas will do just fine. Wow! I can't believe Clint's band could just jump up and perform like that on such short notice!! Amazing!
