This sweet little angel is 4 months already. Time goes by so fast!
We went to the doctor's today. She and Jonas both had appointments. His 3 year old, and her 4 month old.
She is 15.8 Lbs - 89%
24 1/2 Inches long - 55%
And her head is 16.3 in - 59%
What a chunk! I love her! She's wearing 6-9 month clothes and still wears size 2 diapers, although I think once this round runs out, she'll be in size 3.
And I have some awesome news! I haven't said anything because I didn't want to jinx it, but the past 2 weeks have been so amazing! She is so happy. She never cries unless I'm getting her to sleep, which is only about 5, sometimes 10 minutes of it (better than 45 minutes to 2 hours of it). She is so smiley! She loves Clint. Every time she sees him she gets so smiley and happy and kicks her feet. The other day Clint came home, and she got so excited, then he went back in the kitchen and she started to get all pouty. When she saw him again, she was happy. So cute!
One time, at my in-laws house, I was holding her and she fell asleep in my arms. Not a peep, just fell asleep with all the commotion around. What? Who is this baby? She never does that! And she did it again last Sunday. We went to the mall this past week and she fell asleep - not a peep - in her stroller. The last time we took her, she screamed the whole time. And last Sunday was the first time at church where she didn't scream. She was happy the whole time, she even let a lady hold her while I played the piano in primary and Clint taught Elder's Quorum. Again, who is this baby? I love it! Oh my goodness my life is back!
For the longest time I was so stressed to take her out of the house because she would just scream the whole time. Now, she's fine. Wow! It's so nice, I can't tell you how nice it is to have a good baby.
Clint himself even said one day that she is a completely different baby. And now he loves holding her. If he has his choice to take care of her or Jonas, he'll choose her because she is not the difficult one anymore.
I just love this sweety.
The past week or so, Alexis has been learning to grab things. It's so cute! I'll hold up a toy, and she'll study it and fixate on it.
Then, slowly, she'll move her shaking hands to where the toy is at and grab it!
And then it goes straight into her mouth. So cute! I love playing with her.
I guess there are only two things that are "hard" with her.
1. She is super super distracted. When I feed her it has to be quiet, I turn on the noise machine and put a blanket over her. Because if she hears something, or sees something interesting, she'll stop eating and want to check it out and play and I can't get her to eat. Then she'll want to finish an hour later. She is super curious. I can already tell she's going to be getting into everything when she can move. Jonas was very chill.
2. Night. She does this thing where she takes a mini nap around 7:30 or 8ish and it will be a half hour to an hour long, and then she'll wake up and be awake for a couple hours after that. She's happy and playful, but I'm so tired by the time 10:30 rolls around. So I try my hardest to get her to take her mini nap around 6 or 6:30 so she goes to bed at a decent time. It doesn't happen every night, but about 3-4 nights a week. The rest she either takes a later afternoon nap, or she just keeps sleeping.
Either way, those are very minor things compared to what she used to be like. Clint and I decided we don't like newborns. Ya, they are cute and small, but you don't get sleep, you have to figure them out if they have any issues, and they don't interact with you. 4 Months and older is my favorite.
On the other had, 3 years old is NOT my favorite. Jonas has become the difficult one. The terrible twos are nothing compared to the horrendous 3's. He's cranky, throws tantrums over silly things, and whines all the time! If I can get him to take a nap, he's much better, but it's hard to get him to take a nap. Some days I want to strangle him, but I don't because I love him and he's still my sweetheart.
Jonas is 32 1/2 lbs - 57% (Alexis is half his weight, ha ha)
and he is 37 1/2 inches - 49%.
He's definitely a boy.
Your number one with Alexis is my main problem. I have to go in a room alone and if anyone comes in he's done eating. And Carter want to be in there every time I go in there. This is why I have to do bottles half the time now days!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Alexis is acting better! Such cute pictures! :) Jonas just needs to visit his Grandma Dean! ;) And you got Jonas a punching bag! How does he like it?!
