7 Months

Alexis turned 7 months yesterday. 7! Wow, for some reason that number makes her seem older. But she's a sweetheart and I love her so much!
She totally posed herself like this! So CUTE!
She is still wearing 6-9 month clothes. However, 6-9 month pants do not fit her. Her thighs and calves (cankles) are too big for them. So she has to wear 9 month pants (and even those are getting a little snug) or definitely 12 month pants. But I think her growing has slowed down a bit - just a bit. By the way, she weighed 18 lbs at her 6 month appointment, which was the 83rd percentile.

She loves to stand! And she'll even stand and hold onto things, like the couch. I have to help her stand up, but then I can let go and she'll hold on and stay standing. That's why I decided to make her 7 month picture standing while holding onto the couch. Plus, Jonas's 7 month picture was the same, so I had to recreate hers to be the same as Jonas's.

Jonas had way more hair than Alexis. And he even had his first haircut before this pic, too.

She loves her toys. She'll sit and play with them for a good 20-30 minutes as long as Jonas doesn't pester her and take them away, which he usually does.

She's pretty flexible. She'll bend over way far, like the pic shows, to reach for things. She's so curious and loves to grab at everything! And everything goes in the mouth.

Jonas can make her laugh a lot better than me still. She thinks he's funny and I can tell she likes him even though he pesters her. She always smiles for him.

She is doing better with solids. She'll eat a good Tablespoon, maybe more depending on what it is. And that is good for her! I consider that to be successful eating. :) ha ha! However, the only fruit that she likes so far is bananas, and they make her constipated. I've tried nectarines, plums, applesauce, peaches and she spits them all out and makes a sour looking face. But she likes her vegetables, so that's good. And she likes rice, pasta, and real oatmeal. She hates the baby food oatmeal. But when I make real oatmeal for me in the morning, I put some in a small bowl for her and she'll eat it great - as long as I don't put fruit in it. Silly girl!

She says "mama". I don't know if I should count it as her first word because I don't think she knows I am mama yet, but she repeats it.Sorry, the video is kind of long (a minute), but you get the idea after 20 seconds or so. Oh, and the yelling half way through is just Jonas freaking out about something.

She still refuses to roll from her back to her tummy. She hasn't done it yet, and she stops herself whenever she starts to roll. She still whines to get what she wants. And it's such a sad face, I just have to hold her. :) She's struggling falling asleep for her naps. She'll lay there for 30 minutes talking/whining/crying. She wants to be nursed to sleep, but if I don't feed her, she will fall asleep eventually, but she'll only sleep for 30 minutes to an hour. But if I nurse her, then she'll sleep for an hour and a half to two hours. I know it's a bad habit, but I don't know what to do. And I need her to nap, or else she just wants to be held all day and is cranky. And she either falls asleep while nursing for bedtime, or she'll fall asleep within a half hour in her crib.

Sleep training at night is going well. She goes to bed around 7 - 7:30, because she doesn't nap so well so she's exhausted by that time. Then she sleeps anywhere from 3-6. I feed her, then she goes back to sleep until 7 or later.

She's a sweety and I love her.
