Jefferson Scott Bagby

Last year my mom had one grandchild. Then I had Alexis, my brother and his wife had Lily, and now my oldest sister had her child - Jefferson Scott Bagby. My mom went from one to four grandchildren in less than a year! (Technically she has 6 because she has 2 that came into the family when my sister got married, but she only sees them once a year).  How cool is that?

I took pictures of my newest nephew and he is so cute! He was born at 37 weeks, and he gave my sister a rough time coming into the world. She was in labor for a whole week with him, but she wasn't emitted into the hospital until she was dilated to a certain number, since he was considered preterm. She had constant contractions for a whole week! Man, I would take my c-section over that any day! Not that I know what labor is like.

But still, she said it was totally worth it and I can tell she just loves and adores her new little boy. She is such a good mother! Something changes in you when you hold your first child. I just love it!

So I took pictures of this cutie. It was fun, and I feel like I'm getting better at taking pics of newborns. I think these are better than the ones I took of Alexis. I still have room to improve (as I was looking at other professional pics of newborns), but these are still great and I love them.

I said this before, my style is just to focus on the little one. I'm not that into props, except baskets and hats and booties, but that's pretty much it. Keep it simple and focus on the new baby. Because that's what we want to see anyway.

Isn't he just adorable? Newborns are so precious. But then I think about all the sleep you don't get and if they have issues like Alexis did.....they are a lot of work. That's why I'll enjoy them from afar and hand them back to the mom when I am done. Ha ha!

Whenever someone says they are pregnant with their third (or more) child I get this feeling of "why would you do that again?". I guess that means I don't want anymore children - as of right now. Ha ha! But the first child is always great!
